Every year Temple of tooth organizes a procession call Esala Perhara. It is the most colourful traditional event in Sri Lanka. 3. Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
Do you love animals? If the answer is a resounding YES then visit the Pinnawala Elephant orphanage. As the name suggests, it is an orphanage for the majestic creatures of Sri Lanka. The place is a breeding ground, nursery and orphanage for the wild Asian elephants. It is a treat to the eyes to watch these lovable majestic creatures playing near the water body. It was opened in the year 1975 and continues to be a favourite among the travellers. You can get up-close with the elephants and have a fabulous time here!
