1 : Unawatuna Beach

The Unawatuna Beach in Sri Lanka was in the not too distant past recognized as one of the best beaches in the world. This beach area enjoys a quietness that is hard to find in most other places and offers guests a laid back quality to their holiday.

Visitors can discover amazing fish and seashells as they snorkel in the clear blue waters. Enjoying relatively calm waters the Unawatuna beach area is ideal for swimming and if you are really lucky you will be able to see a giant sea turtle.

2 : Bentota Beach

Bentota is a coastal town in Sri Lanka, located in the Galle District of the Southern Province.

Bentota is a tourist attraction, with a local airport (Bentota River Airport) and a handful of world-class hotels. It is a destination for water sports. Bentota also delivers an ancient art of healing called Ayurveda. Bentota is famous for its toddy production, an alcoholic beverage made out of coconut nectar. It also has a turtle hatchery, located on Induruwa beach.

3 : Negombo Beach

Negombo is a popular beach side retreat situated just minutes away from the International Airport. It boasts of some of the finest beaches in the country along with other attractions such as the Muthurajawela marshes which is home to many varieties of fauna, flora and birds, 100 km long canal network, the Dutch Fort built in 1672, the ancient churches, the second largest fish market in the country along with the daily fish auctions, lagoon boat rides and much more.

Negombo also provides easy access to Dolphin and Whale watching at Kalpitiya and the Wilpattu National Park.

4 : Kite Surfing in Kalpitiya

The exotic destination of Kalpitiya, Sri Lanka is perfect for kitesurfing, with super spots for surfers of all levels, from beginners to professional free stylers. The kitesurfing season in Kalpitiya is from May to October, when winds range in between 20 – 25 knots; this is the perfect time for kitesurfing enthusiasts to visit Sri Lanka.

5 : Scuba Diving in Hikkaduwa

With its impressive coral reefs and abundance of tropical fish, Hikkaduwa is recognized as one of the best places for Snorkeling and diving on the Southwest coast (in the southwest season of November to April).

With a reputed and long-running diving school located in the town itself, PADI diving instructors are available throughout the season for training and certification as well as leading more experienced divers in some of the country’s best ship wreck and reef dives.
